Algarve Apartments Draw Tourists from Britanin, and Across EU

Apartments in the Algarve afford tourists from Britain and across Europe an excellent base from which to explore this southwest tip of Europe. The Algarve's mediteranean climate, expanses of beautiful beach and picturesque inland towns and villages that speak back to the region's Moorish past draw visitors back year after year. The region's 420,000 permanent residents swell to over a million persons at the height of the summer tourist season.

The Algarve boasts over 100 sandy and attractive beaches scattered along its 200-plus kilometres of Atlantic coastline. The currents from the open Atlantic provide the Algarve with perhaps the most unpolluted ocean beaches in Europe. Back from the coast almond trees and orange groves feature prominently in the rural charm of the Algarve. Its traditional towns and villages with whitewashed walls and architectural details that date back to Portugal's Moorish history give the Algarve a wonderful and unique sense of place and time.
